Trails & long hikes

EXTRATRAIL®, it is a free infrastructure allowing the practice of trail running, Nordic walking and hiking through carefully marked permanent routes.

The goal? Promote a gentle and environmentally friendly outdoor sports practice while strengthening the tourist attractiveness of the Belgian Ardennes (Wallonia - Province of Liège).

This network of 30 interconnected and combinable courses offers distances of 5, 10, 20, 30, 40 and even 157 km to allow everyone to progress according to their desires and sporting abilities.

Free access from the Tourist Offices of Spa, Stoumont, Jalhay, Stavelot, Theux,Three Bridgesand Malmedy, these routes are taken exclusively on foot (no mountain bikes, scooters, motorbikes, quads or horses), with the utmost respect for the fauna and flora.

Beacons specific to EXTRATRAIL® have been installed on the 750 km route. A design specific to EXTRATRAIL® makes it easy to identify each beacon in the natural environment. They indicate the route or routes on which the user is via a color code dedicated to each distance, while an arrow gives the direction to follow.

Several courses in Trois-Ponts and Stavelot are located near the Val de Wanne chalet restaurant which, via its large car park,  offers an ideal alternative start but also a perfect infrastructure for eating before , during or after exercise.
